Can I Still Use My Insurance?
While we do not bill insurance directly, many patients choose to use HSA/FSA funds or submit superbills to their insurance provider for possible out-of-network reimbursement, depending on their plan. We are more than happy to provide a superbill and general instructions on how to submit it based on your plan. Routine lab work and imaging will all still be covered under your regular medical plan and we are more than happy to help each patient navigate this; so that you are able to maximize the insurance you have wherever possible.

In Renton we have remained in network with Regence/Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans as they offer the best reimbursement rates for providers using Naturopathic Medicine and Acupuncture treatments. They are also available for us and our patients’ questions and concerns when necessary. Because of this we feel good about continuing to remain in contract with them.
If you have questions about which type of appointment is right for your condition please give us a call and our office staff will make sure you are in the appropriate visit type. Services that are not covered by insurance are most often functional medicine lab testing, products, prolotherapy and PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) injections. We do our best to make Naturopthatic care as affordable for everyone as we can. However some costs are not avoidable but are an investment towards your future health. All cash appointments paid in full at the time of service are offered a time of service discount. This discount is only available on the same day as your visit. We except all forms of payment. Dr. Nixon is not classified as a Primary Care Provider. In order to be a PCP there are specific clinic guidelines that must be followed and all patients should have a provider that falls within these specifications. Dr.Nixon is more than happy to work with your PCP in making sure you are receiving the best and most informed and comprehensive treatments.
We are happy to check your benefits for you and will help you with the process to receive reimbursement for any PPO plans that have out of network coverage benefits. Our staff will be happy to check your out-of-network benefits for you and help you fill out the necessary paperwork in order to receive reimbursement from your insurance carrier. Your insurance is an agreement between you and your insurance company, not between your insurance company and our office. We cannot be certain if your insurance covers Naturopathic care or acupuncture, although most policies do provide coverage. The amount they pay varies from one policy to another. Please make sure to call your insurance company and complete a insurance benefit check prior to your visit or have our staff complete this for you. As an additional courtesy to you our office will complete any necessary insurance forms at no additional charge. It is to be understood and agreed that any services rendered are charged to you directly and you are personally responsible for payment of any non-covered services, deductibles, co-pays or co-insurance.
